The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has sent a chilling message to the camp of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, boasting that the Governor’s political fate is already sealed.
In his most confident outburst since the crisis began, Wike declared that “nothing on earth” can save Fubara from the consequences of his actions.
Speaking to a gathering of his political foot soldiers in Obio-Akpor, the former Governor dismissed the recent peace moves and defections by the Fubara camp as “medicine after death.” He insisted that the Governor has crossed the red line of betrayal and must now face the music.
”He thinks he is smart, but he does not know that the trap has already caught him,” Wike reportedly boasted. “Let him run to APC, let him run to the moon. I tell you today, nothing on earth can save him. He cannot escape what is coming.”
Wike hinted that the political machinery to remove the Governor is already in motion and cannot be stopped. He mocked those advising Fubara to fight back, calling them “blind people leading a blind man into a ditch.”
”We gave him a chance, we gave him a ladder, and he broke it. Now he is hanging in the air. When he falls, he will know that power is not given to boys,” Wike added.
Political watchers in the state interpret this statement as a sign that Wike may be planning a major legal or legislative move against the Governor in the coming weeks, possibly related to the State Assembly impeachment saga.
