Northerners Should Come Out En Masse to Support PBAT to Accomplish What He Has Set Out to Do—Igbokwe

Joe Igbokwe has stirred political conversation with a fresh call urging Northern Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) and support his administration’s long-term agenda. Writing on Facebook, Igbokwe argued that national stability and political balance require sustained backing for the current leadership, particularly from the North.

According to him, there is an existing political understanding rooted in Nigeria’s historical power-sharing arrangements, especially following the June 12, 1993 crisis. He suggested that these informal agreements have helped shape expectations around rotation of power between the North and the South.

Igbokwe maintained that President Tinubu should be allowed to complete what he described as an eight-year plan, stressing that such continuity would benefit both governance and national cohesion. He added that, based on the perceived political arrangement, power is expected to return to the North after Tinubu’s tenure, specifically around 2031.

“Northerners should come out en masse to support PBAT to accomplish what he has set out to do,” Igbokwe wrote, emphasizing that the move would align with what he described as a logical and structured political progression.
