Nkechi Blessing: When I Was 17, My Sister Took Me To Her Boyfriend To Check If I Was A Virgin Or Not

Popular Nigerian actress and entrepreneur, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has opened up about a deeply personal and painful experience she went through as a teenager, an experience she revealed for the first time during a candid conversation with Chudeity.

Known for her bold personality and the romantic roles she often plays in Nollywood movies, Nkechi Blessing shared that life at 17 was far from glamorous. Behind the scenes, she dealt with challenges that shaped her into the strong woman she is today.

In the interview, she reflected on the kind of home she was raised in, describing it as very disciplined. Her late mother, she explained, ran a restaurant but maintained strict authority both at home and in her business. According to Nkechi, customers respected boundaries because her mother tolerated no nonsense from anyone.

Despite growing up in such a disciplined household, Nkechi disclosed that she still faced unfair scrutiny from her own family members. She recalled how one of her sisters constantly doubted her virginity, which became a source of pain and mistrust in her teenage years.

The actress revealed that her sister went to shocking lengths to “test” her innocence. According to her, her sister involved her boyfriend in a plot designed to confirm whether or not Nkechi was truly a virgin, something that left her feeling betrayed.

Nkechi Blessing explained that the suspicion from her sister was rooted in judgment about her behavior. She said her sister often criticized the way she danced, especially when she spread her legs while performing, labeling her as a “spoilt child” because of it.

The actress admitted that being subjected to such treatment at such a young age was traumatizing. She stressed that many people see her today as confident and outspoken without realizing the struggles she had to overcome in her formative years.
