Daniel Bwala has reacted strongly to comments made by Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni, who suggested that Bwala appeared on the station only when he was not available. Bwala described the remark as unnecessary and accused Rufai of trying to create drama around a simple media engagement.
Bwala explained that he had been in Lagos for a media tour, visiting several TV stations and platforms. According to him, Rufai was also in Lagos during that period, so if there was any need for Rufai to be part of the interview, the station’s producers could have arranged it. He hinted that Rufai’s recent absence from the show might be linked to an internal issue, which could have limited his movements.
He also pointed out that suggesting he planned his appearance to avoid Rufai was disrespectful to another anchor, Reuben Abati, whom he described as more experienced. Bwala added that another host had tried to push what he called a false narrative during the interview, but he believed he handled it well.
Bwala then issued a direct challenge to Rufai. Since Arise TV has a studio in Abuja, he urged Rufai to come down for a face-to-face interview. He said the session could take place during Prime Time with Charles, making it a fair and open discussion. According to Bwala, he is fully prepared and ready to engage Rufai publicly.
He ended by stressing that he is waiting for the station’s management to make the interview happen as quickly as possible.
In his words, “My attention was drawn to a jibe by an adult toddler, Rufai, saying I went to their station when he was not around.”
