According to a report by Symfoni TV, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, Dr Bitrus Pogu, the President of the Middle Belt Forum, firmly refuted assertions suggesting that the organisation exclusively represents a single religious demographic.
He emphasised that the forum is composed of individuals from diverse faith backgrounds, contrary to allegations of religious exclusivity.
Dr Pogu articulated this stance during a recent interview while answering enquiries regarding the forum’s core objectives and operational activities.
He clarified that the organisation was established with the specific aim of advancing the shared interests of all communities nestled within the Middle Belt region, explicitly disregarding disparities based on ethnicity or religion.
Addressing accusations that the organisation functions primarily as a religious entity, Dr Pogu asserted that the Middle Belt is home to numerous ethnic nationalities that possess varied religious beliefs.

To illustrate the inclusive nature of the organisation, He said, “Muslims are found in the Middle Belt. They are our brothers. My vice is a Muslim. The forum has both Muslims and Christians.”
