Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike has taken to his official X handle to voice his displeasure over the actions of Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that his asset declaration in 2019 was anticipatory.

The Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde was recently on the spotlight after the reports that his arrogate funds meant for victims of an explosion went viral across various social media platforms.

The reports, which were brought to the spotlight by the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose sparked massive public attention, drawing mixed reactions including from Lere Olayinka.

The senior special adviser on media to the FCT minister and former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike in a recent statement which was shared on his official X handle, slammed the antics of the Oyo State governor.

According to his now viral statements, he pointed out that the governor declared in 2019, forty eight billion naira (N48b) as asset, then went ahead to arrogate a whooping N45.5b to himself from funds meant for victims of the Ibadan explosion.

He maintained that what the governor did in 2019 was anticipatory asset declaration, as he might have had plans of siphoning the said funds.

The statements from Lere Olayinka, which generated mixed reactions, however, indicted the Oyo State governor of having ulterior motives, albeit unproven.
