Mbah: He Had Made Moves To Join APC Long Ago, Ikenga Ugochiyere Was With Him In That Fight- Iroegbu

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Dickson Iroegbu, has stated that Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State had been planning to leave the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) long before it became public knowledge.

Iroegbu made the remark during an interview with News Central TV while reacting to complaints from a group of PDP members led by Ikenga Ugochinyere. The group had raised concerns that the woman leader being screened ahead of the PDP national convention was nominated by Governor Mbah, who has now joined the APC.

According to Iroegbu, Governor Mbah was already working with the APC even while he was still in the PDP. He explained that Mbah played a role in creating problems within the party, especially during the crisis over the position of the National Secretary. He noted that Mbah’s actions were aimed at weakening the PDP from within.

Iroegbu also said that Ikenga Ugochinyere was part of the earlier political struggles involving Mbah and should not pretend to be unaware of the governor’s moves. He expressed surprise that Ugochinyere is now complaining about issues linked to the same people he once worked with.

In his words, “He had made moves to move to APC a long time ago, Honourable Ikenga Ugochinyere was with him in that fight. So I’m surprised now that someone like him is crying foul. Except he also concluded his own plan to move like so many of them.”
