According to a report by TVC News, on Saturday December 27, 2025, Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has criticized Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, for minimizing FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s political career.
Fayose supported Wike’s financial prosperity and career advancement in an interview with TVC.
“He turned become a millionaire. In 1997, he signed a contract and received his first $1 million. In 2003, I was elected governor. Wike was a council chairman, according to Makinde. May I remind Makinde that Osinbajo served as Fashola’s Attorney General? However, the same individual went on to become vice president. What are you discussing? What analogy are you making? “Everyone has a path of development that God has planned,” he stated.
Fayose praised Wike’s political standing but also pointed out his flaws.
“I’m not claiming Wike is a saint; I’m saying he is a child of the Lord. “That’s how it is,” he said. The former governor also reminded Makinde of his own political challenges before becoming successful.
“Makinde’s own attempt to run in 2011 failed. 2007 failed. 2015 was a failure. This time, the Lord has given you a window. Do not come and threaten us. “Don’t come and tell us stories,” Fayose stated.
