Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to a viral video showing a man giving a testimony in Pastor Chris Okafor’s church. In the video shared on X, the man claimed he travelled from Nigeria to Dubai without an international passport or a visa and was allowed to enter and stay there for weeks. As he narrated the story, members of the church reportedly celebrated loudly.
Reacting to the video, Olayinka expressed strong disbelief and criticism. He questioned how it would be possible for anyone to pass through an airport, buy an international flight ticket, board a plane, and enter another country without the basic travel documents required by law. According to him, international travel involves strict checks by airlines, immigration officers, and airport security, making such a claim unrealistic.
Olayinka also criticised the reaction of the church crowd, suggesting that celebrating such a story encourages people to believe things that clearly go against common sense and known rules. He implied that testimonies like this can mislead people and others who may not understand how international travel works.
In his view, presenting such claims as miracles can bring ridicule to religion rather than respect.
