Kwankwasiyya Movement Says Kwankwaso Is In Talks With ADC And NDC Ahead Of 2027 Elections

‎According to a report by Leadership, on Tuesday March 24, 2026, the Kwankwasiyya Movement has confirmed that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and 2023 presidential candidate, is in discussions with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

‎Mansur Kurugu, a spokesperson for the movement, said the talks aim to explore possible alignments between the parties and added that no final decision has been made, as discussions are still ongoing.

‎The talks are expected to influence which platform Kwankwaso and other leaders will adopt ahead of the 2027 elections, Kurugu expressed optimism that a final decision would be reached before the election season.

‎Several prominent politicians are involved in the discussions, including former Bayelsa State Governor and NDC National Leader Seriake Dickson, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the talks are said to have made significant progress, according to sources within the movement.

‎The outcome could see the leaders choosing ADC, NDC, or even remaining with NNPP as their platform, Kurugu stressed that the goal is to form a strong coalition that can influence the next general elections.

‎Recently, Kwankwaso hosted Makinde, Obi, and Dickson at a Sallah event in Kano, the gathering provided an opportunity for the leaders to discuss strategies, political alignment, and plans for the 2027 elections.
