Security expert, Kabiru Adamu, has stated that one of the bandits who recently accepted a peace deal in Hayin Gada community, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina, is actually a wanted man with a five million naira bounty on his head.
In an interview with Channels Television, Adamu said that a picture of the bandit in question was sent to him, and in the photo, the bandit was seen with multiple magazines of bullets wrapped around his stomach. He said each magazine contains 30 bullets, and there were so many that he could not even count them all.
Adamu said he is disturbed that the bandit could confidently show up in public despite being on the wanted list and even enter into a peace deal with a public department.
In Adamu’s words: “One of the bandits that we saw, in fact the picture that he sent to me, that guy has a 5 million naira bounty on his head and yet he came out in public. I tried to count the number of magazines on his body but I was not able to count the number of magazines that he had wrapped around his stomach. Each magazine has 30 bullets. This is a guy who has 5 million naira bounty on his head, yet he came out in public and then he had a conversation and, in fact, entered into a peace agreement with another public department. Of course the local governments are public department, the chairman of the local government was there.
