I’ve Muslim Brothers, If They Come To Me For Support, I’ll Support Them, I’ll Not Discriminate -Bitrus

In an interview, President of the Middle Belt Forum, Pogu Bitrus, spoke about interfaith relations and the importance of unity among Nigerians, emphasizing his commitment to fairness and inclusion regardless of religious differences.

According to Bitrus, “I have Muslim brothers. If they come to me for support, I will support them. I will not discriminate,” he explained that his statement reflects his personal values and long-standing belief in peaceful coexistence. According to him, family ties, friendships, and community relationships in Nigeria often cross religious boundaries, and leadership should reflect that reality.

Dr. Bitrus stated that supporting individuals should not be determined by faith but by shared humanity, justice, and mutual respect. He maintained that discrimination based on religion undermines national unity and weakens social harmony. In his view, responsible leadership requires building bridges rather than divisions.

He further emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths. The Middle Belt leader noted that communities across the country include both Christians and Muslims living side by side, working together in markets, schools, and neighborhoods. He said cooperation at the grassroots level demonstrates that peaceful coexistence is not only possible but already a lived experience for many citizens.

Dr. Bitrus added that inclusive attitudes are essential for strengthening democracy and promoting national stability. He encouraged leaders and citizens alike to adopt principles of fairness and equal treatment in public and private life.

He concluded by reiterating that unity does not require uniformity, stressing that Nigerians can maintain their individual identities while supporting one another in pursuit of shared national progress……See More
