Israel Went To Extreme Lengths, Dug Through 250 Rotting Bodies To Recover 1 Murdered Officer”Traiman

In a testament to Israel’s unwavering commitment to its citizens, JNS CEO Alex Traiman detailed the extraordinary efforts by the IDF to recover the body of Master Sergeant Ron Gavili, the last hostage from the October 7 attacks, involving a perilous search through approximately 250 rotting corpses in a Gaza mass grave. This operation not only brought closure to a grieving family but symbolized the end of a harrowing era for the nation.

Traiman recounted the high-risk mission, where IDF forces used intelligence to locate the site in a cemetery, employing military dentists to identify Gavili’s remains amid decayed bodies. “They had to go through uh use intelligence, go through cemetery. They searched in this mass grave essentially something like 250 bodies using military dentists uh to go through these rotted corpses,” he described, highlighting the danger to soldiers who protected the operation. This recovery marked the first time since 2014 that no Israeli hostages or bodies remain in Gaza.

Providing deeper context, Traiman praised President Trump’s personal involvement, noting multiple meetings with hostage families and a firm stance that “he was committed to seeing every last hostage come home.” He connected this to broader successes, including the degradation of Hamas, elimination of key leaders like Yahya Sinwar and Muhammad Deif, and dismantling of Iranian proxies across the region. “If you would have told anybody on October 8th that within 2 years time that Hamas would be heavily degraded… that every single one of those hostages living and dead would be back,” Traiman said, adding that many would have eagerly accepted such an outcome.

The narrative builds on the political pressures faced by Prime Minister Netanyahu, whom Traiman defended against critics who framed the war and hostage returns as mutually exclusive. “The opponents of the prime minister, they always said to him… you could either choose to win the war or you could choose to get the hostages back, but you couldn’t get both,” he explained, affirming Netanyahu’s repeated vow: “We will do both.” With all hostages returned, Traiman argued this removes Hamas’s leverage, enabling Israel to focus on demilitarization and potential escalations with Iran.

Traiman’s comments reflect Israel’s resilience, closing a “very traumatic chapter” while preparing for future challenges. The operation’s success, amid ongoing threats, underscores the IDF’s dedication and the government’s strategic victories in a multi-front conflict.
