Iran Begins Reconstruction Of Nuclear Facility Months After It Was Bombed By Israeli Military:Report

According to a report by Times of Israel, on October 22, 2025, an Iranian facility bombed by Israel in October 2024 is undergoing significant reconstruction, raising international concerns about its intended purpose, according to a new security assessment.

The Institute for Science and International Security released a report Monday revealing that Taleghan 2, a site previously used for nuclear weapons development, has experienced substantial construction activity over the past year.

The facility was among multiple targets struck during Israel’s extensive October 2024 military operation against Iranian defense systems and weapons manufacturing sites.

Israel’s attack came as retaliation for an Iranian ballistic missile barrage that had targeted Israeli territory weeks earlier. The strikes occurred approximately eight months before the two nations engaged in a 12-day conflict in June 2025.

According to the report, reconstruction at Taleghan 2 commenced in May, just weeks before the June war erupted. By September, satellite imagery showed several new arched structures had been erected at the location.

These architectural features could potentially allow the buildings to function as fortified bunkers, the report noted. Notably, the site escaped damage during the June hostilities.

The security organization’s assessment also identified “a blast mitigation feature” installed on multiple structures at the facility, with construction activities continuing at present.

While the report acknowledges uncertainty regarding whether Taleghan 2 is being restored for nuclear weapons development, it expresses grave concerns about the reconstruction activities.

“It is deeply concerning that construction is occurring at a former [late 1990s-2003 crash nuclear weapons program, codenamed the] AMAD plan nuclear weapons development site, raising considerable questions as to the true purpose of the facilities there,” the report stated.

The revelations come amid ongoing international scrutiny of Iran’s nuclear program and regional tensions.

The reconstruction of a site with historical ties to nuclear weapons development has heightened alarm among security analysts monitoring Iranian military capabilities.

The international community continues to monitor developments at Taleghan 2 as questions mount about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the facility’s current operational objectives. See_ More_Here>>>>
