The President of the Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON), Hon. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel has revealed that intelligence reports have surfaced indicating a secret meeting in Abuja involving some opposition figures and members of a new political group.
Speaking during an interview on Voice TV, Samuel said “Reliable intelligence has reportedly emerged detailing a late-night meeting at a hotel in Abuja involving seven prominent leaders of a major opposition party and representatives of a new group known as Generation Nigeria. Their agenda is allegedly centered on strategies to undermine President Tinubu’s prospect for re-election in 2027.”
According to him, the alleged meeting raises concerns about growing political maneuverings ahead of the next general elections. He described the development as a coordinated effort to destabilize the current administration through misinformation and covert mobilization.
Samuel called on security agencies and relevant authorities to investigate the report and ensure that political activities remain within lawful limits. He urged politicians to focus on constructive engagement rather than plots that could heighten tension in the country.
The ELFON president further emphasized that while democracy allows for opposition and dissent, it must be conducted transparently and within the bounds of national interest. “Nigerians deserve a stable political environment, not one fueled by conspiracy or secret alliances,” he noted.
