Renowned Nigerian pastor, Joshua Iginla, has urged Christian leaders to take a definitive stand against the ongoing attacks on Christians across the country. Speaking to his congregation, Iginla emphasized that religious leaders must prioritize their duty to defend the faith over political convenience.
He specifically addressed leaders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), calling on them to publicly declare their positions on the matter. “All PFN and CAN leaders must speak. We must know your position. If you cannot speak out, resign and leave your position,” Iginla asserted.
The pastor stressed that leadership within these organizations is a sacred responsibility that requires courage and moral clarity. “Let good people that we defend Nigeria come out and speak. PFN mankind is not a political tool but a religious organization that should defend Christians. Don’t speak with two sides. We want to see where you are standing,” he said.
Iginla emphasized that silence or indecision from Christian leaders equates to failure in their sacred role. He made it clear that leaders unwilling to voice their stance are unfit to remain in office. “And if you can’t talk, there’s nothing you are doing there as a leader. Resign,” he added.
The pastor also highlighted his personal conviction and fearlessness in standing for the Christian faith, stating, “My name is Joshua Iginla. I fear nobody but God.” His comments underline a growing demand for transparency and accountability among religious leaders amidst rising insecurity and targeted attacks on Christian communities.
