Niger Delta rights activist, Ann-Kio Briggs, has shared her perspective on Nigeria’s leadership, stating that among all current and former presidential aspirants, former President Goodluck Jonathan remains the most capable to lead the country.
In an interview with SYMFONI TV, Briggs said that while many Nigerians might expect her to support Peter Obi due to his performance as governor of Anambra State, she believes Jonathan’s leadership experience and governance record place him ahead of others. She acknowledged Obi’s achievements but emphasized that Jonathan’s tenure as president demonstrated a level of competence and stability that is still unmatched.
Briggs explained that her position is based on a clear evaluation of leadership qualities and national interest. She stressed that Nigeria needs a leader who has already proven their ability to govern with integrity, vision, and a commitment to unity.
In her words, “If I were sleeping, you woke me up at 3:00 a.m. and say out of everyone, who is the ideal president? People might expect me to say Peter Obi because has a track record in Anambra as a governor. So he may be a good president because he has been a good governor. Any other person that I see today that wants to be a president, or has been a president, the only person is Goodluck Jonathan.”
