Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has revealed that he called Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from his hospital bed in Dubai when the state House of Assembly building was destroyed. Even though he is friends with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Fayose made it clear that he is not taking sides in the political fight but speaks as someone who knows both sides.
Ayodele Fayose is a former Ekiti State Governor and PDP leader known for his bold political statements. He appeared on The Morning Show on Arise News to talk about his personal effort to help settle the Rivers State crisis from the very beginning.
Fayose said: “I was in Dubai for surgery about a year and a half or two, about 2 years ago when this incident happened and the assembly was brought down. The first person I called was Governor Fubara. I was on my sick bed. I said, Your Excellency, what’s going on here? I heard you saying Wike is causing the problem. I said, which Wike? What time to what time? You are barely in office for 6 months. Can’t you tolerate this your Wike? This goes back to the warning I gave, the admonition. Let me say I’m not on the side of anybody. Yes, I said that I’m Wike’s friend here. If you ask me anything Wike is wrong, I will say it to him privately, and when you ask touching questions, I will have to say it publicly.
