In a recent video on Facebook by Church gist, a prominent Nigerian cleric and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has said that throughout his life and ministry he has never seen the need to compete with anyone, attributing his journey and accomplishments to divine grace rather than rivalry.
Speaking during a recent sermon to his congregation, the respected preacher emphasised the importance of gratitude, personal focus and appreciation for the success of others.
According to him, believers should avoid the trap of unhealthy competition and instead celebrate the progress of others while remaining committed to their own divine assignments.
Oyedepo, who is widely known as the presiding bishop of the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, told worshippers that his life philosophy has always been guided by thanksgiving rather than comparison.
He stressed that every individual has a unique path and destiny, making competition unnecessary for those who trust in God’s purpose.
While addressing the congregation, he declared, “I Have Never Had To Compete With Anybody In My Life. I Thank God For Others, No Competition.”
The cleric explained that focusing on one’s personal calling is more productive than measuring success against others.
According to him, competition often leads to envy, distraction and unnecessary pressure, while gratitude creates peace of mind and spiritual growth.
Members of the congregation who listened to the message said the teaching resonated strongly with many people who struggle with comparisons in their careers, ministries and personal lives.
