Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken a firm stance against former Canadian parliamentarian Goldie Ghamari following her controversial remarks about religious freedom in Nigeria. The ex-lawmaker had alleged that Christians in Nigeria face systemic persecution, citing the religious affiliations of the country’s top political leaders, according to report by DAILY POST on Wednesday November 19 2025.
The comments, made during a televised discussion, drew immediate rebuttal from Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, who challenged Ghamari’s assertions.
Fani-Kayode later echoed this rebuttal on his official X account, commending Tuggar for defending Nigeria’s image on the global stage.
In his post, Fani-Kayode questioned Ghamari’s moral authority to speak on Nigerian affairs, pointing to her removal from Canadian politics and the revocation of her legal credentials.
He described her as a divisive figure with a history of inflammatory rhetoric and accused her of promoting discord under the guise of advocacy.
Fani said,
“Her misplaced and insane views on her native Iran and now Nigeria are fuelled by hate, ignorance and a level of malevolence and malice that is rarely seen and I am glad that my brother, Yusuf Tuggar, not only excoriated her before the entire world during the show but also put her in her place despite her gratuitous insults and insufferable insolence.”
