Gentle Yahoo Who Strutted As ‘Lion Of East’ Now In Custody Living Proof Ala Is Slow To Anger-Ejiofor

According to a report by Punch on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, human rights lawyer and counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has condemned the wave of killings, kidnappings, and violent crimes across the South-East region.

He described the actions of those terrorising the area as a deep betrayal of their ancestral land.

In a statement issued in Awka, Ejiofor said many criminals have turned the forests and farmlands of the region into camps of horror.

According to him, these individuals kidnap people for ransom, commit rape, and murder innocent citizens without remorse.

He said their actions have stained the same land that gave them life.

Ejiofor explained that the once peaceful forests, where ancestors lived and traded, have become hideouts for crime.

He noted that these criminals, in their quest for power and wealth, have turned sacred lands into shrines of blood and fear.

He singled out one man, known by the nickname “Gentle Yahoo,” as a leading figure in the violence.

Ejiofor said the man had gained notoriety by terrorising communities and believed himself untouchable by both men and spirits.

But he said the man’s recent capture by security forces shows that no one is above justice.

Ejiofor added that “Gentle Yahoo,” who once saw himself as the “lion of the East,” is now in military custody, proving that evil always meets its end.

He said the fall of the notorious criminal should serve as a lesson to others who bring shame and destruction to their land.

“And leading this macabre orchestra of destruction was one so-called ‘Gentle Yahoo’.

The same man who strutted about as the ‘lion of the East’ now whimpers in the custody of military intelligence, a living proof that Ala is slow to anger, but swift to repay. The masquerade of impunity, it turns out, always dances most vigorously at dusk, just before it collapses,” he said.
