According to a report by Daily Post, on Monday, December 29, 2025, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, criticised Governor Siminalayi Fubara for failing to restore His Royal Highness, Eze Ohna Sergeant Awuse, the Paramount Ruler of Emohua, to his position as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.
During a special Christmas visit to his political allies in the Emohua Local Government Area, held at the palace of the monarch who also leads the South-South Traditional Rulers Forum, Wike explained that Awuse had been removed while he was incapacitated.
The minister noted that while the traditional ruler was in a coma due to illness, the state administration chose to replace him rather than offer support or prayers for his recovery.
Wike emphasised that despite demands for his reinstatement, the government has remained unyielding. He said, “You tell me that I’m a fool? I’m a fool? “Well, there’s always time for wrestling.”
He further remarked that in a true contest, the primary figures only emerge when the time is right.
Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, the Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom, was previously appointed to take over the chairmanship from Eze Awuse. During the visit, the monarch expressed deep gratitude to Wike, calling him a steadfast partner and stating that Emohua is heavily indebted to his leadership.
The traditional ruler also took the opportunity to commend the administration of President Bola Tinubu, claiming that the national currency has seen a resurgence in value and global interest.
He concluded by affirming the absolute loyalty of his people to Wike, stating they would follow the minister’s direction and support whichever candidates or causes he recommends.
