FCT: If You Vote For Usman, They’ll Give 5K, For PDP They’ll Give 2K, Some Are Not Giving 5 Naira — Voter

According to a report by News Central TV on Saturday, February 21, 2026, a voter at Kutunku I Primary School in Kutunku Ward, Gwagwalada Area Council, has alleged inducement of voters during the ongoing Federal Capital Territory Area Council elections.

The allegation surfaced amid the FCT area council election 2026 exercise, with claims that monetary incentives were offered in exchange for electoral support at the polling unit.

Speaking at the venue, the voter identified as Sale expressed mixed reactions about the process and the motivations behind his participation: “We thank God for the process. I swear I didn’t plan on doing any election this year. It’s because of Usman Yahaya I came here. I am not even in this Abuja. It is because of the election I came back. We just thank God for life.”

He further alleged that different sums were being offered to voters depending on their preferred candidates: “If you vote for Usman, they will give you 5K. If you vote for PDP, they will give you 2K. Some, they are not giving 5 naira.”

Despite acknowledging the alleged offers, Sale maintained that he declined financial inducement and voted based on personal conviction: “I vote for Usman Yahaya, but I told them I don’t need their money. I just like them. I just vote for them. They give me joy. I’m here because they give me joy.”
