Nasiru El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State and Chieftain of the ADC has taken to his official X handle to react to viral reports that he specified the region of the next president of Nigeria. According to his statements, he pointed out that the reports were not only untrue, but malicious.
The news regarding the alleged comments by the former governor of Kaduna State and ADC Chieftain, Nasiru El-Rufai that the next president should come from a certain region generated mixed reactions after the reports went viral across various social media platforms.
The comments from the former governor which sparked massive public attention, drew widespread condemnations as many found the alleged remarks a national threat, and deviation from pressing national issues.
However, in a recent statement which was made available to the general public on his official X handle on Monday December 15th 2025, the former governor dismissed such reports, terming them as malicious.
According to his statements, he pointed out that his attention was drawn to the viral reports, a claim which he refuted, pointing out that he never made such comments either on interviews, speeches or social media posts.
These were the words of Nasiru El-Rufai which he shared on his official X handle,
“My attention has been drawn to a trending news item alleging that I specified which region of the country should produce the president in 2027. This is an untrue claim, despite its virality. I did not say so in any of my speeches, interviews or social media posts.” He wrote.
