According to a report by Vanguard, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, reaffirmed his political stance and personal loyalty during the 60th birthday celebration of Senator Sandy Onor in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Wike said he would back only candidates who openly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming FCT Area Council elections slated for February 21. He stated that it is his responsibility to mobilize support for Tinubu’s allies and ensure their success at the polls, regardless of party differences.
The minister stressed that he would not apologize for working against candidates who do not align with the president, maintaining that his position is clear and deliberate.
Turning to the celebrant, Wike described Onor as a dependable associate and loyal companion who has consistently demonstrated commitment and trustworthiness. He said true friendship is revealed in challenging times, adding that Onor has proven himself reliable over the years.
“I will continue to be with you and work with you,” Wike said, expressing appreciation for their longstanding relationship.
He added, “I know even if I am not alive today, you will not abandon my family.”
