Emmanuel Macron’s Wife, Brigitte, to Provide Evidence In Court to Prove that She’s A Woman

According to a report by The New York Times, French First Lady Brigitte Macron is preparing to present scientific evidence in a U.S. court to counter false claims about her gender.

She and her husband, President Emmanuel Macron, are suing American commentator, Candace Owens, accusing her of running a smear campaign to boost her media platform.

The lawsuit, filed in Delaware in July, alleges that Owens repeatedly spread a conspiracy theory suggesting Brigitte Macron was born male. Owens has doubled down on the claims, even producing an eight-part podcast series, despite public records and family testimony disproving them.

Tom Clare, the Macrons’ lawyer, told the BBC that the attacks have been “incredibly upsetting” for Brigitte and a needless “distraction” for the French president. He confirmed that expert testimony would be presented in court and said Brigitte was “firmly resolved to do what it takes to set the record straight.”

The couple intends to submit photographs of Brigitte pregnant and raising her three children, born in 1975, 1977, and 1984. Now 72, she is also a grandmother of seven.

Rumors about her gender first circulated in France in 2021, sparking a defamation case against two bloggers.

Although the Macrons initially won, an appeals court later ruled the claims did not fit the legal definition of defamation. That case is now before France’s highest court.

In the United States, the Macrons accuse Owens of ignoring evidence and promoting conspiracy theorists to increase her following.

Owens’ legal team has filed a motion to dismiss, arguing the Delaware court lacks jurisdiction. She continues to stand by her allegations.
