El-Rufai There’s Something You Cannot Take Away From Him; He’s A Courageous Person -Malam Bala Ibrahim

The National Publicity Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Malam Bala Ibrahim, has spoken on the recent remarks credited to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the 2027 political climate.

Appearing on Daily Trust TV’s program Daily Politics, Ibrahim was pressed to react to El-Rufai’s controversial statements, where the former governor allegedly suggested that Tinubu may be seeking to consolidate power far beyond his mandate. While many expected a sharp rebuttal from the APC spokesman, Ibrahim instead struck a tone of caution and admiration for El-Rufai’s personality.

“There’s something you cannot take away from him; he’s a courageous person,” Ibrahim said, describing El-Rufai as an intelligent and fearless political figure. He explained that El-Rufai has built a reputation over the years as someone who speaks his mind, even when his views appear to contradict those of his political allies.

Ibrahim, however, was careful not to validate the claims circulating online, urging Nigerians to be wary of manipulated content. He pointed out that with artificial intelligence and technology, videos can easily be edited to misrepresent people’s words. “Responding to what may not be authentic could cause more harm than good,” he argued.

On the broader political discourse, Ibrahim reaffirmed the APC’s stance that the Tinubu administration is focused on governance and economic reforms rather than early campaigns for 2027. He emphasized that citizens should not confuse ordinary political visibility—such as billboards or public endorsements—with formal electioneering.

By acknowledging El-Rufai’s courage while steering clear of outright confrontation, Ibrahim projected the image of a party seeking to manage internal dissent without undermining its unity. His remarks also reflect the APC’s delicate balancing act as it navigates public scrutiny, opposition criticism, and growing anxiety over Nigeria’s economic direction. See, More, Here>>>>
