According to a report by AlJazeera News on Saturday, February 28, 2026, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi took to social media platform X to share harrowing details and visuals of an Israeli airstrike that destroyed a primary school for girls in southern Iran, intensifying accusations of deliberate civilian targeting and promising that the “crimes against the Iranian People will not go unanswered.”

In a post, Araghchi described the incident: “The destroyed building is a primary school for girls in the south of Iran. It was bombed in broad daylight, when packed with young pupils.” He added, “Dozens of innocent children have been murdered at this site alone. These crimes against the Iranian People will not go unanswered.”

The accompanying image shows a heavily damaged, smoke-filled school building surrounded by crowds of distressed residents, emergency responders, and families amid rubble-strewn grounds. The scene depicts collapsed walls, scattered debris, and people searching through the wreckage, underscoring the scale of devastation.

State media earlier reported the death toll at the Minab school in Hormozgan province rose to 53 students which are all young girls with rescue efforts ongoing. Araghchi’s post aligns with his prior statement to IRNA that the attack on Iran’s narrative of unprovoked aggression by Israel and the United States.
