Douglas: This Will Be War Of Ruthless Destruction That We’re Preparing To Wage On Behalf Of Israel

Amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran following reports of a renewed crackdown on protesters in Iran, former U.S. Army Colonel and military analyst Douglas MacGregor has issued a stark warning about the consequences of any American military action under President Donald Trump’s leadership.

In a statement posted on his verified Twitter account, MacGregor argued that the United States lacks the ground forces necessary to invade Iran or even to rapidly deploy troops to the region for such a mission.

According to him, logistical and manpower constraints would severely limit Washington’s ability to conduct a conventional ground campaign against the Islamic Republic.

MacGregor cautioned that any U.S. strike would not resemble a short, contained operation but would instead escalate into what he described as a “war of ruthless destruction.”

He asserted that such a conflict would effectively be waged on behalf of Israel, a claim that echoes long-standing criticisms from analysts who argue that U.S. policy toward Iran is heavily influenced by Israeli security concerns.

The retired colonel further warned that Iran would not treat American military action as a limited engagement. Instead, he said, Tehran would likely view it as a total war, mobilizing all available resources and responding across multiple domains.

This, he suggested, could include attacks on U.S. interests and allies throughout the Middle East, as well as disruptions to global energy markets.

MacGregor’s comments come as the Trump administration signals a harder line on Iran, linking potential military action to Tehran’s internal repression and broader regional behavior.

While senior U.S. officials have emphasized the need to deter Iran and protect American interests, critics argue that military escalation could spiral beyond Washington’s control.
