Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong message to Jewish communities around the world, urging them to remain confident and visible despite rising cases of antisemitism, particularly among young Jews on campuses and in major cities.
Netanyahu made the remarks in a recent video shared on YouTube while speaking at the Second International Conference on Combating Antisemitism, held in Jerusalem. The event gathered global leaders, policymakers, and advocates to address what he described as a renewed surge of hostility toward Jews across different parts of the world.
Addressing young Jews directly, Netanyahu warned against silence and withdrawal in the face of intimidation. He encouraged them to maintain their identity and voice, stressing that fear should not determine their actions. In his words, “Those Facing Intimidation On Campuses And City Centres Don’t Be Afraid. Don’t Bow Your Head.” He further urged them to speak openly and stand firm when confronted with hostility.
The Israeli leader described antisemitism as more than a challenge for Jewish communities alone, calling it a broader global danger that threatens democratic values and social stability. According to him, history favours those who actively confront hatred rather than those who merely condemn it with words.
Netanyahu emphasized that visibility and engagement are essential in countering prejudice. He encouraged Jewish students and professionals not to retreat from academic institutions or public spaces, but to assert their presence and defend their rights peacefully and confidently.
