Deborah Yakubu WA Burned By 50 Of Her Classmates, They Videoed It while Shouting Allahu Akbar -Dean

Sean Dean, the Senior Counsel for Global Religious Freedom at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) International, has called for the abolition of blasphemy laws in Nigerian states where such laws exist

In a video shared by Root TV Nigeria, Dean said in May 2022 Deborah Yakubu, a Christian student in Sokoto State, was attacked and burned to death by about fifty people for allegedly making comments considered blasphemous. He said the people who killed her filmed the incident while shouting “Allahu Akbar” and shared the video on the internet to show what they had done.

Dean said it is shocking that no one has been held accountable for her murder. He said such actions must stop and the blasphemy laws should be abolished completely

In Deans words: “In Sokoto State, there was a young woman, Deborah Yakubu, she was a Christian student. In May 2022 she was burned by 50 of her classmates and they videoed it while they were shouting Allahu Akbar and they put it all over the Internet so that everybody would know what they meant. No one has been held accountable for that”
