According to report by DAILY POST on Friday February 20, 2026, the Concerned Igbo Ministers Commission has reacted strongly to the killing of Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Alagamo of Agamo in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, who was shot dead in his palace on February 18, 2026, by suspected gunmen.
In a statement signed by Rev. Tony Uzor Anthony, the clerics described the assassination as a brutal assault on traditional authority and community stability.
They warned that the violence Nnamdi Kanu had earlier predicted as a “jihad” has now spread into Yorubaland, urging the Yoruba people to unite with the Igbos against what they termed a common enemy.
The group lamented that Kanu’s warnings were dismissed by authorities and instead used as evidence to convict him of terrorism.
They stressed that the killing of Oba Falodun underscores Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and highlights the urgent need for collective action to safeguard cultural institutions and regional peace.
Here’s their statement,
