According to Channels TV, new accounts from a survivor of the Boko Haram attacks have shed light on the deliberate and covert methods used by militants to wipe out entire communities without alerting anybody in the area, as reported on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Yakubu Dauda, who was attacked in Yobe State late at night, described a terrible encounter in which the assailants chose knives over firearms in order to carry out their plan covertly.
According to Dauda, the militants approached with a specified killer and specific weapons designed for mass murder rather than as a disorganized mob. The order for his execution was given when he was surrounded by around 20 armed men.
Dauda remembered them saying, “Mallam, come and murder him. ” Since they arrived with a supply of stones, prepared to kill all the Christians in the area, the man was nearby and ready for the massacre.
The insurgents’ heinous deeds are given a semblance of ceremony or power by including a Mallam to oversee the murders.
Dauda said that, during the first phase of the attack, the insurgents intentionally chose silent methods, even though they possessed sophisticated weaponry. The organization attempted to prevent a mass exodus from the village by using knives and killing methods instead of firearms.
They are well-equipped. They have it all. Dauda said that they have everything, including AK-47s. But the silent killings were solely for slaughtering, to ensure that no one would hear anything that might make them run away.
The choice was clear: a gunshot would notify the rest of the community. However, he continued, others will hear you if you fire.
