Bello: That Road I Videoed That Went Viral Was The Fourth Road That Was Cut, There Were 5 Roads-Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has alleged that multiple roads were deliberately cut and destroyed in parts of Kogi State ahead of her election, describing the actions as a calculated attempt to disrupt movement and intimidate voters.

She made the allegation during an interview on Mic On Podcast, hosted by Seun Akinbaloye, while reacting to the controversy surrounding viral videos she recorded before her election. According to the senator, the widely circulated footage showing a damaged road did not capture the full scale of the destruction that occurred at the time.

“That road that I videoed that went viral was actually the fourth road that was cut. There were actually five roads in total that were destroyed a day before my election,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said on the programme.

The senator explained that the road cuts significantly affected residents, traders and commuters, making access to several communities difficult. She alleged that the actions took place during the administration of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and were aimed at restricting movement in key areas during the election period.

Akpoti-Uduaghan noted that the destruction of infrastructure went beyond political rivalry and had real humanitarian consequences for ordinary people. She said residents were forced to take longer, unsafe routes, while some communities were temporarily cut off from essential services.

The lawmaker also recalled that her decision to document and share the situation was driven by frustration and a desire to draw national attention to what she described as an abuse of power. According to her, the viral video only revealed one instance, while several other roads had already been rendered unusable.
