Former ADC National Chairman Ralph Nwosu has announced that the party intends to pursue the withdrawal of INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan’s Senior Advocate of Nigeria status and his expulsion from the Nigerian Bar Association, accusing him of demonstrating bias in his handling of the ADC leadership dispute.
Speaking in an interview with Daily Trust TV, Nwosu said, “We are going to move that he should be de-roped as Senior Advocate of Nigeria because he has done everything that should disqualify him from representing that profession. He will be removed as a member of the NBA, because he has demonstrated bias,” he said.
Nwosu stated that his experience working with more than four INEC chairmen had given him a clear benchmark for how the office should be conducted, and that the standard had always been to refer controversial matters to the courts for interpretation rather than act unilaterally.
He argued that Amupitan had been brought in to provide neutral leadership in managing electoral processes not to function as a lawyer and that the moment he crossed that line, he compromised both his office and his professional standing….See More
