In a recent interview on Arise TV, Dr. Uzo Ngoladi, Secretary-General of the Forum for Southeast Academic Doctors, emphasized the urgent need for a political approach in addressing the ongoing situation surrounding the imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu. He stated that the region’s leaders must work collectively to prevent further strain on security and economic activities across the Southeast.

During the discussion, Dr. Ngoladi referenced growing political momentum behind a negotiated solution, quoting the statement, “Alex Otti said Southeast governors will do their best to ensure a political solution to Kanu’s case.” He noted that Governor Alex Otti’s assurance highlights a unified commitment among Southeast governors to explore non-punitive measures that could ease tension and restore stability in the region.

Dr. Ngoladi emphasized that the region’s insecurity should not be solely attributed to Kanu, as many violent incidents stem from opportunistic non-state actors. He urged residents to remain patient and supportive as political consultations intensify.
