The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has reacted after she was criticized for saying Afe Babalola University is now ranked 84th in the world.
The reaction of Abike Dabiri was contained in a post that she shared on her official X account on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
She made the statement after ABUAD honoured her with a doctorate degree.
Here is what Abike Dabiri wrote on her official X handle;
“My conferment of an honorary doctorate degree by Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti. ABUAD is now ranked number 1 in Nigeria, number 3 in Africa and number 84 in the world. Humbled and grateful to be so honored”.
After she made the statement, there were several reactions from social media users over the statement she made.
Reacting, Abike Dabiri stated that the ranking was done by Tines Higher Education Impact Rankings. She said the ranking was publicly announced by the representative of the institute who came as a special guest to the convocation.
