Prominent Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tread carefully as the 2027 general elections draw nearer. According to him, the opposition may be plotting a strategic move that could significantly weaken the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a prophetic session, Ayodele revealed that Tinubu’s political opponents could join forces and select a powerful running mate to tilt the balance in their favor. He stressed that coalition politics would play a decisive role in determining the next president.
“Tinubu must be very clever; they may bring Saraki, Kwankwaso, or Tambuwal as VP,” Ayodele warned, hinting at the caliber of political heavyweights who could be drafted into the race.
The cleric explained that if such a coalition comes to life, it would pose a major threat to Tinubu’s chances of re-election. He insisted that the president should not underestimate the possibility of unlikely alliances forming against him.
Ayodele further added that the APC’s influence may not be enough to withstand a united opposition front. “If the opposition parties can manage their differences and rally behind one strong candidate, the election outcome could shock many,” he noted.
Political analysts agree that figures like former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal have significant grassroots followings and political networks that could make them formidable players if chosen as running mates.
With Nigeria’s political climate becoming increasingly unpredictable, Ayodele’s prophecy underscores the importance of coalition-building and strategic partnerships. Observers say while Tinubu currently holds the advantage of incumbency, his chances may diminish if the opposition succeeds in pulling heavyweight politicians into their camp.
