Social media users have been reacting after Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Olisa Agbakoba, weighed in on the dispute between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and a naval officer, Lieutenant Yerima, in Abuja.
Agbakoba made his remarks in a post shared on his official X account on Friday, November 14, 2025. His comment followed the incident in which Wike and his entourage were reportedly prevented by Lt. Yerima from entering a parcel of land during a visit to the site.
In his post, Agbakoba described the confrontation as a complicated matter that requires a proper and thorough investigation. He questioned the relationship between military directives and civil authority, raising concerns about how both systems operate alongside each other.
According to him:
“While Lt. Yerima may rely on orders from his superiors to bar Wike from gaining access, it leads to a broader issue: are military regulations functioning independently of civilian law?”
The post quickly generated strong reactions online, prompting many users to share their opinions and interpretations of the situation.
