Reactions As Force PRO Shares IGP’s Statement Saying Army Is Not The Nation’s First Line Of Defense

Social media users have taken to their official X account on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 to react to the statement of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun that the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin shared on his official page.

In the statement that Benjamin Hundeyin shared on his page, the Inspector General of Police clarified that the first line of defense in any country is the people and not the army.

The IGP said the people must be united and obey the rule of law.

In the post that the Police Public Relations Officer shared, the IGP said that;

“The truth is that a nation’s first line of defense is not its army, it is Its people; educated, disciplined and united by the rule of law”.
