In a recent video on Facebook, Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has admonished Nigerian politicians to prioritize human welfare over political ambition, warning that wealth and power are fleeting. Speaking during a recent address, Ayodele criticized the tendency of Seyi Makinde in Oyo gubernatorial and other former governors and wealthy politicians who waste resources on personal ambitions rather than helping the needy.
“Well, he says he wants to be president,” Ayodele remarked. “Why can’t you keep this money to save so many souls than to waste the billions you have now?” he asked pointedly.
The cleric noted that political power is temporary and should not be pursued at the expense of compassion and service to humanity. “Keep it to help people,” he advised. “You become ex-governor, and you’ll be ex forever. Do you understand? It’s a warning.”
Ayodele, known for his direct and prophetic messages, emphasized that material wealth should be used to make meaningful social impact rather than fund political vanity. “If you like, take it; if you like, don’t take it. If you like, you can dump this endorsement,” he said, underscoring the sincerity of his message.
