In a recent video on Facebook, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a warning to the Federal Government, predicting a major gridlock in Nigeria’s power sector between November and December if urgent action is not taken.
Speaking during a live prophetic session, Ayodele called on the Minister of Power to immediately address looming operational challenges that could lead to nationwide blackouts and disruptions. “Another gridlock is going to happen November, December,” the cleric warned. “The minister for power should work on this against gridlock. If government doesn’t do all that is needful on this, it will affect the system.”
According to Ayodele, the anticipated crisis would not only disrupt electricity supply but could also have ripple effects on industries, homes, and public services. “This is something that can be avoided if proactive measures are taken,” he added. “Government must act fast to prevent embarrassment and hardship for the people.”
The cleric emphasized that the recurring problems in Nigeria’s power sector are not merely technical but also administrative. He urged greater transparency and efficiency in energy management. “The power sector needs divine wisdom and good leadership,” he said. “If the authorities ignore this warning, it will cause serious problems for the economy.”
Ayodele’s prophecy comes amid increasing complaints from Nigerians about erratic power supply and frequent grid collapses in 2025. The country’s electricity generation has remained below target despite government efforts to reform the sector.
He concluded with a stern appeal to those in charge: “Let them take this as a prophetic caution, not a criticism. If they fix what is wrong now, the crisis can be averted.”
