Wike’s Aide Reacts After Sowore Was Arrested by the Police After Meeting With Nnamdi Kanu in Court

Lere Olayinka, an aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, reacted on social media today after activist Omoyele Sowore was arrested in Abuja.

Earlier today, Sowore visited the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), appeared for a hearing. Videos showed Sowore speaking briefly with Kanu within the court premises. Shortly after their interaction, police officers approached and arrested him.

This arrest comes only days after a protest held on Monday, also in Abuja. During that protest, Sowore joined Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel, to demand Kanu’s release. The police stopped the demonstration and arrested several protesters. They were taken before a Magistrate Court in Kuje and later remanded in Kuje prison while waiting for their next court date.

Following today’s arrest, Olayinka reacted in a mocking tone on his X account. He compared Sowore’s situation to what happened on Monday, suggesting that what goes around comes around. His comment implied that both sides have now faced similar consequences from the police.
