According to a report by Jerusalem Post on Sunday 1 November 2026, US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States can launch another military strike against Iran’s remaining nuclear facilities within ten minutes, following a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump made the statement on Sunday, warning that Washington had identified one or two remaining nuclear sites requiring further military action, including the underground Pickaxe Mountain facility.
“There are ‘one or two sites’ left that need to be dealt with, including Pickaxe Mountain. We can do it in ten minutes.
We have a plan for it, and we can execute it very quickly,” Trump said.
Despite the military warning, Trump indicated that diplomatic negotiations with Tehran were continuing. He said Iran wanted an agreement but questioned its reliability, accusing the country of repeatedly backing away from previous commitments.
The remarks followed a telephone conversation between Trump and Netanyahu, which took place after the US president consulted senior military officials about options for potentially resuming operations against Iran.
The discussions reportedly involved CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon has reinforced its military presence across the Middle East, deploying additional air defence systems, ammunition and equipment while repositioning forces to limit their exposure to possible Iranian retaliation.
Ten US Air Force transport aircraft also arrived at Israeli military bases in southern Israel last week, reportedly carrying equipment intended to strengthen regional air defences.
However, US defence officials reportedly believe Washington is unlikely to launch another military operation before the November 3 congressional midterm elections, unless intelligence reveals preparations for an imminent Iranian attack.
Tehran has meanwhile threatened a forceful response to any further American or Israeli assault.
Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei reportedly instructed military commanders to prepare for immediate retaliation, while Iranian military chief General Ali Abdollahi warned that the country’s list of potential targets had been expanded.
With diplomatic efforts continuing alongside military preparations, uncertainty remains over whether negotiations will prevent another confrontation or Washington will resume strikes after the elections.
