Good News: FG To Engage 4,000 Social Media Influencers To Promote Tinubu’s Infrastructure Projects

The Federal Government has announced plans to engage 4,000 social media influencers to showcase infrastructure projects delivered under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Information and National Orientation on Tuesday in Abuja, the initiative is aimed at improving public awareness and bridging the communication gap between government and citizens.

“The Federal Government will be partnering with 4,000 digital content creators and influencers across the country to amplify the achievements and impact of ongoing infrastructure projects,” the statement said.

The Ministry explained that the influencers will be deployed to document and share progress on roads, bridges, rail lines, housing, power and health projects across the 36 states and the FCT. It added that the engagement will focus on factual reporting, citizen feedback, and promoting government transparency.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, said the Tinubu administration has delivered several critical projects in the last one year and Nigerians deserve to know.

“According to the Minister, President Bola Tinubu is committed to renewing infrastructure across Nigeria. These projects are changing lives and we must ensure citizens see and understand the impact,” Idris said.

The announcement has however generated mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians welcomed the move as a way to counter misinformation, others questioned the cost and selection process for the 4,000 influencers.

The Federal Government said the programme will be implemented in phases and will prioritize youth, women and persons with disabilities in the digital space.

In a related development, the administration has listed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and student loan scheme as key projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
