Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress’ (AAC) presidential nominee, has responded to Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s recent statements regarding opposition politicians. In a post on his X account on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Sowore stated his position while uploading a video snippet of Datti’s appearance on the Mic On Podcast.
Reportedly, Datti, who was Peter Obi’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election, talked about Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and other opposition leaders’ political prowess when discussing the 2027 presidential race.
Datti had stated that the politicians attempting to defeat President Bola Tinubu would not be able to make Nigeria better if they won, according to Sowore. “Ahmed Datti, this bozo and military apologist, who is an empty airhead, claims that @Peter Obi, @Atiku, and the others are unable to make Nigeria better. However, he is correct on that matter, “Sowore stated.
Sowore then shifted his focus to Datti’s relationship with Obi, claiming that due to their participation in the 2023 election, the former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate was already well-versed in Obi’s political character. Sowore said, “He was aware that Peter Obi, his deputy, was a packaged fraud. “There is no need to repeat that; he just showed what he knew intimately. ”
During the 2023 National Peace Accord signing between presidential and vice-presidential candidates, the AAC presidential candidate also recounted an incident he had with Datti. At the signing of the Peace Accord in 2023, Sowore claimed, “I sat next to Datti and saw him gushing over @officialabat Tinubu. Right then and there, I tweeted that these men were working for their uncle, Tinubu. At the time, their supporters were unable to accept the truth. ”
He next proposed that his prior stand regarding the connection between the politicians engaged had been supported by political advancements since the 2023 election. They are now more aware, he said.
