According to a report by The Punch on Saturday, October 18, 2025, Mike Arnold, former Mayor of Blanco City, Texas, alleges that the Nigerian Federal Government is complicit in the killing of Christians, a claim he backs with years of on-the-ground investigations and visits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
Arnold’s fact-finding mission was initiated by a call from Reno Omokri, who allegedly pressured the former Mayor to align with a specific narrative at a press conference.
Arnold refused, stating his only goal was to “speak the truth” about the genocide he had been investigating since 2019. He was so concerned about the danger of his mission that he updated his will and prepared for the possibility of being killed for speaking out.
Arnold accuses government officials who dismiss his report as “propaganda” of being complicit in genocide. He asserts that the government is engaged in “witness repression” by denying the existence of IDP camps, labeling the victims as criminals, and even bulldozing the settlements. He believes there are millions of IDP eyewitnesses to the atrocities.
While acknowledging that both Muslims and Christians are being killed, Arnold maintains that Christians are a targeted group in a strategic campaign.
He stresses that Nigeria, a wealthy nation, has the resources to fix the problem but lacks the political will, calling for international scrutiny and a halt to foreign aid until transparency is established.
