Oriire:We Didn’t See Any Dead Kidnapper, There Was No Confrontation; Maybe Ransom Was Paid—Col Abara

Colonel Leo Abara, a retired military officer, has reacted to the rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers who were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking in an interview with AIT, Col Abara said he was disappointed that it took the government more than 50 days to rescue the victims. He said he has not seen any kidnapper killed or captured during the rescue operation.

Col Abara said he did not see any sign that there was physical confrontation between the security operatives and the kidnappers. He said this could mean a ransom was paid for the victims’ release
