Chidi Odinkalu has reacted to complaints made by former Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, over the outcome of the recently concluded APC gubernatorial primaries in Nasarawa.
According to statements shared on Odinkalu’s official X account on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the human rights activist suggested that the former police chief was now experiencing the consequences of actions allegedly carried out during his time in office.

The former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission argued that the situation reflected what he described as a cycle of political consequences.
“..When police officers under his command were helping to rig elections in the past what did he think? That it would not get to his turn someday?” Chidi Odinkalu asked.
Odinkalu, who is known for frequently speaking on governance, human rights, and electoral matters in Nigeria, used the statement to criticize what he described as longstanding issues surrounding election manipulation and abuse of power within the political system.
The comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users supporting Odinkalu’s remarks while others defended the former Inspector General of Police.
