According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of News Central TV on Thursday, May 14, 2026, Veteran Journalist and ADC Chieftain, Dele Momodu, shared his views on the growing debate over zoning and opposition strategy ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

While discussing the chances of opposition candidates in 2027, Momodu stated, “What I know from studying the 2023 general election is that it will be almost impossible for a Southerner to defeat Tinubu.” He maintained that electoral numbers and political structure remain major factors in determining victory in Nigeria’s presidential elections.

The ADC chieftain also said opposition parties should concentrate on presenting competent and experienced candidates capable of challenging President Bola Tinubu successfully. According to him, political competence, governance experience, and national appeal should carry more importance than regional sentiments.

Momodu further described former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as one of the most experienced politicians in the opposition, while also acknowledging the political credentials of other notable aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections….See More
